As per the Indian Stamp Act, every document requires a prescribed stamp duty. Earlier, judicial stamps printed at security press were used for this purpose. However, the Government has now allowed the use of Franking Facility instead of only specific denomination judicial stamps.
Franking is a stamp or mark indicating that the required stamp duty amount has been paid. In the banking industry, loan documents taken from borrowers require stamp duty which varies depending on the type of document.
Previously, borrowers or customers had to visit stamp vendors to purchase judicial stamps. Often, stamps of specific denominations were not available. With the introduction of franking, customers can easily get the required stamp duty amount franked on their documents, saving both time and expenses.
Franking loan documents is now a simple and convenient method for paying government stamp duty. Documents are prepared by the bank and signed by the concerned parties after applying the required franking amount.
Vishwas Bank provides this franking facility not only to its customers and borrowers but also to the general public. The bank charges a nominal commission for this service.
Rs. 15/- per document will be charged for documents to be franked up to Rs. 10000/-.
PAN Card and Aadhar Card Required for Franking the documents.
